Why we give?
The Lord is generous to us and everything we have is from Him. We give to the church as a Spiritual Discipline in recognition of the greatness of God's provision, to grow in Christ-likeness, and to care for those around us. We pray that faithful givers to the church will also prayerfully give to other local and global missions working for the Kingdom of God. Some give 10%, a standard set by Abraham's interaction with the king of Salem in Genesis 14, some give less and some give more. Paul instructs the church in 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." So whatever you decide to give, give it with a cheerful heart of service to God and the church.
